Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Revenue Cycle Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate would be a self-starter and responsible for managing the entire process of the revenue cycle, from the initial patient encounter to the final payment.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring accurate and timely billing of services to insurance companies and government payers.
- Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and Remittance Advice for accuracy and proper posting.
- Work with the billing company to resolve front-end and back-end rejected claims, billing issues, and charges to be sent to insurance in a timely manner to avoid delays in payment.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to the revenue cycle and identify areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with department heads to ensure completion of billing corrections and return information to the billing company.
- Participate in weekly meetings with the third-party billing company and administration.
- Work with patients, insurance payers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth and accurate payments.
- Stay current on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field preferred.
- Experience with CPSI/TruBridge EHR preferred.
- Experience in medical billing or a related field is required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems such as CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10.
- Knowledge of medical office procedures and electronic health records (EHR).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of all payer sources, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans.
- Previous experience in medical collections processes is a plus.
